This will be Christie’s 2nd year teaching.
1st/2nd grade teacher – Mrs. Carey Thomsen
This will be Carey’s 16th year of teaching. She graduated from CMU in 2004 with her Elementary Education degree. She is currently working on her Master’s from Saginaw Valley State University. Carey taught at Standish Elementary for 1 year, Ogemaw Hills Christian School for 3 1/2 years and then taught various homeschoolers for 7 years. She has also done some long term subbing for various schools after graduation. She was one of the original teachers when CCA opened.
She loves teaching lower elementary but has taught all grades 1st-8th. Her favorite subjects to teach are Bible, Phonics, and Social Studies. She is looking forward to a great year!
Carey has been married to her husband for 14 years and they have two boys. She is very active at Calvary Baptist Church teaching junior church, helping in the nursery, playing flute in the orchestra and is the director for the Awana Cubbie program.
3rd/ 4th grade teacher – Sarah Moore
I’m Sarah Moore and I am super excited this year, this will be my first year teaching and I cannot wait to see what God has in store for us.
I’ve been married to my husband for almost 7 years and we have 1 daughter. We love adventure, exploring God’s world and making memories
A few of my favorite things – iced coffee, unsweetened ice tea, all things pink, chocolate, thunderstorms, waterfalls, and the fall season
5th – 8th Grade ELA/History/Science:
This will be Nicole’s 7th year of teaching. She graduated from Bob Jones University in 2004 with a degree in Elementary Education.
Nicole taught at Ogemaw Hills Christian School for 5 years, where she has taught grades 2nd through 8th.
Nicole has been married to her husband for 15years and they have four boys. She is active at Calvary Baptist Church teaching junior church, helping in nursery and Awana.
5th – 8th History and K-8th Art Teacher – Candis Older
This will be Candis’s 2nd year teaching
